People come to individual therapy for many reasons. You may have experienced an acute trauma, or you may have years of relational challenges that you would like to process. You may have big changes facing you, you might be feeling anxious, or perhaps you have body image concerns. Whatever brings you to therapy, I’m here to support you and collaboratively formulate a unique plan that will best address your needs. We’ll work together to meet the goals you want to meet, in the way you want to meet them.
Feeling your best not only benefits you, but it benefits your work, your loved ones, and your overall experience and potential in life.
Sometimes the world can feel overwhelming. Taking specific time each week to focus on yourself in therapy can give you the tools and clarity you need to move forward with deeper self-understanding and confidence.
Integrative individual therapy
There is no singular approach when it comes to integrative therapy. We will utilize the tools and methods best suited to your personality and your needs to most effectively reach your desired outcome. We will likely work with contemporary attachment- based psychodynamic therapy as a foundation, accompanied by other appropriate complimentary methods, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, and EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy). If you have questions about any of this, please don’t hesitate to ask when we connect for your free 20 minute consultation. I look forward to meeting you and hearing about what brings you to counseling!
how therapy works
-
If you think we may be a good fit, please reach out for a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs. I look forward to hearing from you!
-
In our first session, we’ll just be getting to know one another. This can sometimes feel a bit awkward, but don’t worry! This is normal and we’ll become more comfortable together over the next few sessions. Initially I’ll actively listen to your concerns and what brings you to therapy. We’ll get an idea of what you’re looking for in counseling and how we can best work together to help you start to feel better.
-
As our individual sessions continue, you may find that fresh ideas come to light, and/or that your attention shifts to newly revealed therapeutic concerns. You may discover areas of focus that you hadn’t thought about prior to starting therapy. You may find that shorter or longer term counseling is appropriate for you. Given these considerations, our work together will take shape naturally based on your needs and how you’re feeling as treatment moves forward.
questions you may have
-
Seeking support is a sign of courage and self- awareness. If you’ve been working hard to shift painful or unsatisfactory aspects of your life without the desired results, individual therapy may be the right choice for you.
-
Longer and shorter term therapy is available and appropriate for different situations. While longer term therapy allows us to more deeply excavate your experiences from the past and consider how they may be impacting your current life, sometimes short term, solution- focused therapy is more applicable. This is something we can discuss in our free 20 minute consult.
